Supporting CUPE 3906 at McMaster University
Dear members,
The members of CUPE 3906, the union representing Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants-in-lieu, Sessional Faculty, and Postdoctoral Fellows at McMaster University, are on strike as of today (November 21st) for higher wages and tuition reimbursement and to challenge years of poor treatment by their management.
We need to join their picket line in solidarity to support their efforts to improve the lives of their members. Their struggle is our struggle and that of workers in Ontario, across Canada, and around the world. If we support them now, they will in turn support us in our time of need.
We know this is a busy time of the year, but if you have a morning or an afternoon that you can join the collective efforts and support the strike of CUPE 3906, please consider doing so. They will be picketing from 7am-5pm Monday to Friday at three main campus locations: Sterling at University, Cootes Drive at the entrance to Lot M parking, and the Cootes Drive campus/go bus entrance.
